V All-Russian Conference "The demographic development of the Far East" will be held in Magadan from 28 to 30 June

The annual all-Russian conference "The demographic development of the Far East" will be held in Magadan from 28 to 30 June. The organizers are the Ministry for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic, the Agency for the Development of Human Capital in the Far East, and the Government of the Magadan Region. The conference is of a practical nature: decisions taken at the end of the day find life in the form of policy documents, and also stimulate the dissemination of best practices in the field of demographic development in the regions of the Far East.

Sergey Nosov, Governor of the Magadan Region, commented: “We are pleased to receive demographic experts from Russia and other countries this year. This is a good opportunity to discuss the implementation of the national project "Demography" in the region, exchange experiences with professionals and get competent advice. The conference will be held in celebration of the anniversary of Magadan. On the 2nd day of its implementation, we plan to lay the first stone in the foundation of the construction of a maternity hospital in the capital of Kolyma, starting the implementation of the national project. I am sure that the work of experts at the conference will allow finding new practical solutions and adopting the best practices from the participating regions. ”

This year's conference will change according to the format: plenary sessions will be complemented by a strategic session, as well as visits to social facilities. On the first day, it is planned to hold plenary sessions in priority areas of the demographic agenda with the participation of leading Russian experts. Conference participants will discuss fertility increase measures; an increase in the life expectancy of Far Easterners using international and domestic experience; preservation of youth in the Far East. On the second day, visits to social facilities in Magadan, exchange of experience and holding a seminar for public organizations on participation in the contest of the Presidential Grants Foundation are envisaged.

Starting this year, Far Eastern families will receive significant support, as for lump-sum payments for the birth of their first child, payments for regional maternity capital for the birth of their second child, monthly payments for the birth of the third and subsequent children. Marina Dedyushko, Deputy Minister for Development of the Far East and the Arctic, commented: “Additional measures to support families with children living in the Far East are part of system solutions specifically designed to improve the level and quality of life in the macroregion. This is a key goal and an absolute priority for the Ministry for the Development of Russia. To create living and working conditions in the Far East that are competitive with other regions of the country, primarily for young people. It is worth noting,

Sergey Khovrat, Director General of the Human Capital Development Agency in the Far East, invited experts in the field of demography to participate in the conference: “The conference is an expert platform that has already recommended itself well. Following the results of the conferences held in previous years, the Concept of the demographic policy of the Far East for the period up to 2025 was developed and approved by the Government of Russia, a compilation of the best Russian practices in the field of demographic development was published, and a number of best practices were distributed. Expert discussions and the development of new solutions are particularly relevant now, when the implementation of a large-scale national program aimed at the development of the Far East is launched. ”
