Russian and Chinese parts of the Blagoveshchensk-Heihe automobile bridge will be connected on May 31

The docking of the international bridge “Blagoveshchensk (RF) –Heihe (PRC)” (Amur region - Heilongjiang province) will end on May 31. The bridge is being built at the same time from two shores and now several meters are left before their final connection. The docking of the international bridge will be attended by Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation - Presidential Plenipotentiary to the Far Eastern Federal District Yury Trutnev and Russian Minister for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic Alexander Kozlov.

“Russian President Vladimir Putin knows about this project, the leader of the PRC Xi Jinping knows. This project is monitored because it is interesting - there is no budget money in it. Construction is under a unique concession agreement. The project and in terms of innovation, and in terms of reputation is very important. Because it can lead to the emergence of such new projects, ”said the Minister of the Russian Federation for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic, Alexander Kozlov. 

Construction of the bridge started on December 18, 2016. Since the summer of 2018, the Ministry of Eastern Development of the Russian Federation has been actively involved in the construction work, and the ministry has been monitoring the execution of instructions for the bridge. For example, that the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation and the regional team on time prepared the documentation for the construction of the checkpoint. 

Now the bridge is being built around the clock, more than 550 people are involved in the works. On the Russian side, the bridge will be 540 meters in length, 13 kilometers of access roads will lead to it (built from scratch). The Chinese part of the bridge is much smaller and amounts (with the roads) to 5.9 km. By the end of 2019 the bridge will be ready. 

It is assumed that the capacity of the bridge will be 630 trucks per day, 164 buses, 68 cars and about 5.5 thousand people.
