Russia generates 2.3% less electricity in 4M - Rosstat

 Russia generated 374 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity in January-April 2014, down 2.3% year-on-year, the Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat) said.

Output fell 5.8% year-on-year to 251 billion kWh at thermal power plants but grew 2.6% to 61.9 billion kWh at nuclear plants and 8.9% to 60.8 billion kWh at hydropower plants.
Electricity output fell 1.8% year-on-year in April alone, with a drop of 8.7% at thermal plants, however output rose 21.8% at nuclear plants and 6.6% at hydropower plants.
Russia generated 616 million Gcal of heat in January-April, down 4.2% year-on-year. Thermal plants produced 272 million Gcal, boiler plants - 314 million Gcal and industrial recovery units 26.9 million Gcal. Heat output fell 1.5% year-on-year in April alone.
