More than 22 billion rubles were allocated additionally for the development of the social infrastructure of the Far East

More than 22 billion rubles have been allocated from the federal budget for the social development of economic growth centers in the Far Eastern Federal District. The corresponding decree was signed by Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev. The document was prepared by the Ministry of the Russian Federation for the development of the Far East and the Arctic.

The document allocates additional funds for the implementation of social development plans for the centers of economic growth of the subjects of the Federation that  are part of the Far Eastern Federal District. These funds within the framework of the state program "Social and Economic Development of the Far East and the Baikal Region" will be used to create objects of social, engineering and transport infrastructure in the Far Eastern regions.

The document was reviewed at a meeting of the Government of the Russian Federation on May 7, 2019.

“We will send additional money from the federal budget to the development of the Far East and the construction of infrastructure there. This is almost 22.5 billion rubles. Due to this, the transfers to the Primorsky Territory, Buryatia, and the Trans-Baikal Territory are increasing, ”Dmitry Medvedev said during the meeting.

The allocated funding will make it possible to further implement 74 events in the Republic of Buryatia, 70 - in the Trans-Baikal Territory, 10 - in Primorye.

Earlier, the decision on the allocation of additional funds was approved by the Subcommittee on the implementation of investment projects in the Far East, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister - Plenipotentiary of the President of the Russian Federation to the Far Eastern Federal District Yury Trutnev. The meeting approved the Social Development Plans for Economic Growth Centers of the Republic of Buryatia and the Trans-Baikal Territory, and also expanded the list of facilities in Primorye.

In the Republic of Buryatia, activities include the construction and overhaul of educational institutions, health facilities and sports.

In the Trans-Baikal Territory, a major overhaul of healthcare institutions will be made, 40 first-aid stations have been built, dozens of sports grounds have been built, educational institutions have been repaired, and groups for disabled children have been opened.

In Primorsky Krai, the allocated funds will be used to repair highways in Vladivostok and the Artyom-Nakhodka highway, 70 building facades, a hospital, and two schools.

 

Recall that now in the Far Eastern regions, social infrastructure is being formed within the framework of the “Single Subsidy” allocated for the development of economic growth centers in the Far East. In total, more than 94 billion rubles will be allocated from the federal budget for these purposes until 2021. 412 social facilities will be built, reconstructed and modernized throughout the Far Eastern region.
