Ekaterinburg's Application For The "Expo-2025" Was Presented In Chile

On February 28, 2018, a working visit was held by Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Georgy Kalamanov to Chile, during which the Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia held talks with the Minister of Economy, Development and Tourism of Chile Jorge Rodriguez Grossi , Director General of the Central Office for International Economic Relations of the Chilean Ministry of Foreign Affairs Paulina Nasal , as well as the Director of ProChile Alejandro Buvinic .

The main topic of the meetings was the presentation of the application of the city of Yekaterinburg as a venue for the "EXPO-2025", as well as the discussion of projects of trade, economic and investment cooperation and the development of Russian-Chilean cooperation in the field of industry.

Within the framework of the conversation with Paulina Nasal, a detailed presentation of Ekaterinburg's application for the right to hold EXPO-2025 was held, during which the main emphasis was placed on the presence of the Russian side of all the necessary conditions for organizing and holding such a large-scale event.

In addition, during the meeting the parties discussed a number of the most promising bilateral projects in the industrial sphere. Georgy Kalamanov emphasized the active work carried out by Paulina Nasal as co-chairman of the Russian-Chilean intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation, and stressed the need for closer cooperation with Chilean partners in the field of pharmaceuticals and medical supplies. In turn, the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Chile expressed confidence in the further enhancement of cooperation between both countries, including on the site of the Eurasian Economic Commission.

The presentation of the city of Yekaterinburg as a candidate for the right to hold EXPO-2025 also became the main theme of the meeting with the Minister of Economy, Development and Tourism of Chile Jorge Rodriguez Grossi, after which the parties agreed to continue work on this issue.
