AR Games Acquires stake in Online Game Publisher Syncopate

AR Games announced that it has acquired 25 percent of Syncopate, one of Russia’s largest online game publishers.

Founded by famous Russian film producer and media entrepreneur, Alexander Rodnyansky, AR Games is expanding the scope of AR Films across new mediums. Syncopate, developer and operator of the GameNet platform, is one of the leading publishers Russian-speaking markets, with hit titles including Aika and Blood Rites.

AR Games is a division of AR Films, an international film production and distribution company operating in Russia, as well as 22 Eastern and Central European countries and the US.

AR Films’ owner, Alexander Rodnyansky, noted that for 30 years, he has been working exclusively in production and distribution of filmed content, but today the line between movie experience and gaming is blurring.

Film lovers and gamers expect not only to be entertained, but engaged. By joining Syncopate I intend to provide both financial resources and creative expertise, helping the company implement its expansion strategy and further grow its market share, said Rodnyansky.

Oleg Sambikin, co-founder and president of Syncopate, also commented that Syncopate’s biggest advantage has always been its outstanding team. The company is excited to have Alexander Rodnyansky, a legend in the film business, join it as a valuable member of Syncopate’s ‘all-stars.’

With AR Games' participation, Sambikin expects to take Syncopate to a new level of audience reach, while further strengthening its relationship with gamers.

Syncopate will continue development of GameNet, the company’s publishing platform and social network for gamers, with the intention of bringing its innovative technology to the global market.  Syncopate will also continue building its portfolio, emphasizing its already dominant position in cybersports and with the gaming community at large.

AR Games is a division of AR Films, a film production and distribution holding located in Russia and founded by Alexander Rodnyansky. AR Films also operates A Company, one of the biggest film licensing and distribution corporations in Central and Eastern Europe.

Rodnyansky Productions is AR Films’ independent film production company in the US. Its first project – Billy Bob Thornton’s film Jayne Mansfield's Car – is currently filming in Atlanta.

Alexander Rodnyansky, Russian film and television producer and media executive, is the founder of the Ukrainian TV channel 1+1 and former CEO of CTC Media, the biggest independent publicly traded media conglomerate in Russia.
